A new Resolution on the Right to Food in the Council of Europe

On 5 November 2025, from 1pm to 3pm (CET), a special webinar will bring together European experts to discuss the recent Council of Europe Resolution 2577, adopted on 3 October in Strasbourg, which aims to guarantee the human right to food. This event, organised as part of the ‘Rebooting the food system’ project, will explore in detail the implications of this resolution and the new perspectives it opens up for food policies in Europe.
Leading specialists, including representatives from the FAO, the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and La Via Campesina, will discuss the issues at stake and propose concrete courses of action for European states.
On 3 October in Strasbourg, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted the Resolution 2577 entitled : “Guaranteeing the human right to food”. Within the framework of the EU project "Rebooting the food system", this webinar will underline the importance of this Resolution and its content and explore the opportunities it may provide in Europe, thanks to the input of renowned specialists.
