A key moment to rethink the right to food in Europe
In a context of growing food insecurity and the revision of the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) of the European Union, this conference is part of a collective reflection on how to make the right to healthy, sustainable, and accessible food effective for all.
Almudena Garcia Sastre will take part in the round table “Challenges to make the right to food effective in European policies”, alongside sector experts and representatives of the European Commission.
Promoting sustainable food for all : the European commitment of Good Food for All
Beyond her role within FIAN, Almudena Garcia i Sastre is also involved as a steering committee member of the European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) Good Food for All.
This initiative calls on the European Commission to ensure that every European citizen has access to healthy, sustainable food produced with respect for people and the planet.
The ECI promotes a holistic approach to food, linking agricultural, social, environmental, and public health policies. More than 125 European organisations have already joined the coalition.
A united and resilient Europe starts with the plate
Almudena Garcia Sastre’s intervention will emphasise the need to integrate the right to food into European policies, by supporting synergies between grassroots actors, institutions, and citizens.
Through her commitment and that of Good Food for All, she will remind everyone that food is a fundamental right — not a privilege — that must be protected and guaranteed for all.
